I’ll be in Europe the week of October 13th. The European Commissioner for Competition has organized a conference in Brussels and I’ve been asked to participate in a panel discussion entitled “How Does Competition Spur Innovation?” It’s a nice invitation for a small start-up such as Cuil and I’m excited at the opportunity to share a little of the Silicon Valley experience with people in the EU.
On the way back, I’m going to stop in Ireland for a few days and set-up a data center there. These machines will help us with serving in Europe, from where Cuil receives a fair amount of our queries. I’ll also pop in and see some family and friends, of course. I will take a walk along the river where Finn MacCuil’s salmon of knowledge was caught; if I catch anything, I will, of course, let you know.

Hi Tom, I just heard from my cousin Councillor Patricia Rooney that you had been in Drogheda, where my Dad was born and I spent the war years (at 44 Trinity St.).
Like you I emigrated, in 1964 to Detroit with Ford Motor and am now retired down here in Naples, Florida.
Great to hear of CUIL.COM’s success.
Sorry I missed you in Drogheda.
