We’ve been hard at work over the past few months improving the search experience and we’re thrilled with the latest result of this effort: Cuil is pleased to announce the launch of our first video search!
Working with our friends at Hulu.com, we’ve integrated a huge portion of their video and movie content into our search results. This means you can forget about tirelessly searching the Internet in hopes of finding the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live or The Office. When you perform a search that contains video results (try house or heroes), you’ll notice a new “Video” tab containing Hulu results. If we think we’ve found a particularly relevant video result, it will appear on the front page of your search results.
For our power users, we’ve even added some advanced search options. If you want to watch episodes from Season 4 of The Office, a search for the office season:4 will give you relevant results. If you are looking for a specific episode you can type the office season:4 episode:14.
If that isn’t cool enough, when you find a video you want to watch, you can play it right from the search results page. Just click the blue title link or the “play” button to open Cuil’s built-in video player. You can even watch full-screen without leaving Cuil. If you’d prefer to watch it on hulu.com, you can do that, too.
We’ll continue to add premium content from new partners over the next few months, so keep your eyes open for new additions to the site. As always, let us know what you think and what else you would like to see.
If you’d like to find out about partnering with Cuil, drop us an email.

Not bad going at the moment – nice to see new features being added in every so often. I still think there’s room for improvement with the main search though – you claim all these spectacular things about it yet it still seems to come up with a lot of irrelevant results. Still, I guess Cuil is still relatively new, it’ll keep on getting better.
PS. I still want to pronounce it “Kweel”. Stupid weird words.

I like the website a lot and i just submited my site. I would be intrested in simpler search results, that i could select the info i want to see like no thumbs, small description ect. I have a older tiny laptop i use for school which is somewhat slow and i dont need all of that extra information for the laptop. But for my desktop i love to see all that stuff so having a choice for each would be nice.
