Copyrights
As a search engine, we are obliged to respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement. To send us a notification of claimed copyright infringement, under copyright laws, it must be a written communication that includes the following:
- Your name, contact information, and physical or electronic signature;
- The reference or link to the content on our Cuil sites that you claim is infringing;
- Sufficient information to identify the copyrighted materials that you claim have been infringed;
- A statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted materials identified in the notice in the manner complained of is not authorized; and
- A statement of the accuracy of the notice and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on the behalf of the copyright owner.
If you believe that content has been mistakenly removed from our Cuil sites pursuant to the steps above, please send us a counter notice. To send us a counter notice, under copyright laws, it must be a written communication that includes the following:
- Identification of the content that was removed, and the location where it would have been found on Cuil sites prior to its removal;
- A statement that you attest, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the content was mistakenly removed;
- Your consent to local federal court jurisdiction, or if overseas, to an appropriate judicial body; and
- Your physical or electronic signature, together with your contact information.
